The Ohio Beercast had the pleasure of interviewing one of the “old guard” of the Ohio brewing scene. Jay from the Weasel Boy Brewing Co. stepped up to the mic. In our conversation we wonder all over the Ohio craft beer universe. A nationally recognized brewery Weasel Boy is churning out great beer all the time and should be on your list of stops in the Columbus area.
So it’s March 2014 and you know what you need? That’s right your weekly dose of the Ohio Beercast and here it is waiting for you. Darrell and Mark jump right into this weeks episode with some shout-outs and an Ohio Kickstarter project. In anticipation of Earth day on the horizon we go a little global about water droughts and the impact you might see on beer sales. Mary MacDonald wandered onto the latest episode of the Ohio Beercast. For those that don’t know, Mary is the executive director of the Ohio Craft Brewers Association (OCBA) and she has held that seat since September 2013. As the new/first executive director Mary gives us a few nuggets of information about what it’s like to be in her shoes and the goals of the OCBA. For those of you that do not know about the OCBA this will be your first introduction to it. But the quick sound bite of it all is it’s center/homebase to unite and connect the Ohio craft brewers and if you made to the Winter Warmer Fest in Cleveland you have been witness to the OCBA as they are the organizers that annual event.
Taking the Ohio Beer Blogger Round table to an 11, we welcome Rick Armon (The Beer Blog) to the bar. Returning to the bar is Renée M. DeLuca (The Brewer’s Daughter), Cheryl Harrison (Drink Up Columbus), Chris Stevens (Queen City Fresh), Mark (The Ohio Beercast) and Darrell.
